How to make a marriage biodata

Keep these ready
Five minutes of gathering saves ten minutes of typing.
- Personal details
- Date of birth, and the time and place of birth if the family uses the horoscope rows. Height. The rashi, nakshatra and gotra if they are printed.
- Education and work
- The degree and the institution, the present job and the employer or business, and the income if it goes on the sheet.
- Family
- Parents' names and occupations, brothers and sisters with whether they are married, and the native place.
- Contact
- The number the other family should call, and whose it is. An address if you want it printed.
- A photo
- One recent, clear photograph. The form crops it; you do not need to prepare it.

Pick the language the other family reads first. The labels change to that script and your details stay exactly as typed, so a Hindi sheet and an English sheet come from the same form.

Before you send it
Read every name and number once more — a wrong digit in the phone number is the commonest mistake on a biodata. Open the PDF on your phone and look at the photo at full size.
